2005-11-07 - 6:14 p.m. "In my administration, we will ask not only what is legal but what is right, not what the lawyers allow but what the public deserves." "If there is a leak out of my administration, I want to know who it is. And if the person has violated law, the person will be taken care of. If somebody did leak classified information, I’d like to know it, and we’ll take the appropriate action. “If somebody committed a crime, they will no longer work in my administration.”
The Boston Globe: During a debate with then-Vice President Al Gore on Oct. 11, 2000, in Winston-Salem, N.C., Bush said: "I don't think our troops ought to be used for what's called nation-building. . . . I think what we need to do is convince people who live in the lands they live in to build the nations. Maybe I'm missing something here. I mean, we're going to have a kind of nation-building corps from America? Absolutely not." hmmm...So, uh, guess that didn't exactly work out, huh? Oh, OK; use one thing for one campaign promise and the exact opposite for the next. Yeah, I totally didn't even realize how often you do that. Gotcha'. ...a-hole. Bush went on in that interview to say, "I'm going to be judicious as to how to use the military. It needs to be in our vital interest, the mission needs to be clear, and the exit strategy obvious." Once again, I guess that didn't work out, huh? I mean, otherwise we'd - oh, I don't know - maybe....HAVE A FREAKING EXIT STRATEGY!? Please note that 5/1/2003 was "Mission Accomplished" according to GWB.
